Our Prayer Calendar

In a country with a population of 5 million, Lebanon currently has 1.1 million, mostly Syrian, refugees living within its borders.  These refugees usually face difficult trials as they make the hard decision to leave home, and sometimes other family members, behind. Pray that our time of serving can be an opportunity to show God’s Love to these displaced peoples, as well as an encouragement our National Global Family members, Nabil and Lena C.

Sunday, April 17
- Pray for the team as we leave in the afternoon from PTI to fly to Beirut Lebanon. We will be housed at a Baptist seminary surrounded by mosques in downtown Beirut. Pray for safe flights and no events that would impede our arrival.

Monday, April 18 - Pray for a time of openess and sharing as we meet with the seminary faculty and students; these young men are being trained for church ministry in the Muslim world. We will also meet with our Global Family member, Nabil C., who shared about the ongoing refugee crisis at last year’s Fall Global Celebration.

Tuesday, April 19 - Pray for the Lebanese Society for Educational & Social Development: an evangelical organization whose mission is to serve the church in Lebanon and the Arab world through spiritual, social and educational development.

Wednesday, April 20 - Today we will travel to the Becaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, close to the Syrian border, and we’ll have the opportunity to see more about the ministries serving the refugees. Pray for opportunities to be of help and encouragement to the believers doing ministry.

Thursday, April 21-23 - We will assist the personnel that run a Christian camp for refugee children. We will be doing arts and crafts, sports, teaching and hanging out with these kids and their families as well. Pray that we will relate with the children and for Pastor Harrop as he preaches on Friday and Saturday. The theme of the camp is ‘Free at last’, a fitting theme given their freedom from a war torn country, but of course the freedom is spiritual freedom.

Sunday, April 24 - We will be going to a church where Pastor Harrop will be preaching. Since translation will be involved, pray for clarity and understanding, and that the message will encourage those who are attending.

Monday, April 25 - We will travel back to Greensboro. Pray for the flight connections, especially for those who have to work the next day.
